Season Seven - coming to Sky One

According to Cult Times it should start airing on Monday 29th September at 8pm with the Season Opener Fallen.

Also the behind the scenes documentary should be aired the week before.  Great News for us in the U.K. dying to see our favourite show!

Season Eight - CONFIRMED!

It's confirmed folks!!  Sci Fi have posted an announcement on their website and its official!  Click Here to go and see their announcement.

No Star Trek series has run for this long (shame) and only the X-Files has gone longer.

While all the cast have signed up for the eighth season it remains to be seen how large a role RDA will play in this new season.

Season Seven Airs

Season seven started airing in the United States on June 13th 2003.  The first episode entitled "Fallen" brings about the reintroduction of Michael Shanks as a regular cast member.  Unfortunately it also heralds the loss of Corin Nemec as a regular - who will only be appearing a few episodes this season.

SG6 and SG7

Wolf Conventions in the UK have announced two further Stargate conventions after it was believed that they had hung up their Staff Weapons for the final time.

SG6 was announced earlier in the year to much surprise and over 90% of the tickets were sold in less than a week with no guest announcement made.  Bryan, who is the main spokesperson for Wolf, made an announcement on their message boards thanking fans for their over whelming support.  SG6 is now sold out and more information on the guests for this event can be found at the Wolf Site.

SG7 was announced earlier last week and will be held in February 2004 and guests should be announced starting from 1st August 2003.  Suspense is high as rumors have been floating about that maybe Michael, Chris and Amanda could be attending... phew!

Season Seven Update

As you all probably know by now the Sci Fi channel has confirmed the return of all of the current cast for Season Seven.  We are delighted that not only will we see the return of Daniel but that also Corin Nemec will be continuing in Season Seven as the wonderful Jonas although the number of episodes he will be in hasn't been confirmed..

A hugs thank you must go to all of the cast and crew who make Stargate SG-1 possible - without them our lives would be duller.  THANK YOU!

Season Seven

YES IT'S CONFIRMED!  There is going to be a seventh season of Stargate and for confirmation follow this link.  Can we just say that we are thrilled and delighted that this wonderful series is continuing for another season.

Michael Shanks

HE'S RETURNING! Just when we thought the news couldn't get better.  Michael Shanks is returning as a regular cast member.  Follow this link for official confirmation.  So this makes our week, year even.  Stargate is returning for another season and so is Michael Shanks.  While we are still waiting on the confirmation of other cast members can we just say that we hope that all will be returning.  What could be better than SG1 to have five members.  And now we are going away to celebrate...

Okay firstly we are back!  Yes after a fabulous time at SG5 we are ready to update, circulate and try to answer those questions again.

So what did we learn at SG5...

Season Seven

N John Smith (Executive Producer of Stargate) was available at this convention and answered all questions as honestly as he could.  His response was that the Sci Fi channel have asked for a seventh season and this has been agreed in principal... except they still need to sign the stars.  Richard Dean Anderson has also agreed (in principal) to star in a seventh season however this was in the final stages of being confirmed.  If season seven goes ahead he will appear in roughly as many episodes as he has in season six.  Next they have to agree contracts with the other cast members and the writers.

N John Smith's exact words was that season seven is 98% likely to go ahead.

But as with anything nothing is completely certain.

Michael Shanks

A couple of pieces of news for Michael Fans.  Firstly he is again going to be coming to the United Kingdom sometime in May 2003.  Wolf Events are the place to keep your eyes on for further details.

Secondly N John Smith stated that if Season Seven is to go ahead that Michael would also be included in the series.  For how many episodes wasn't discussed but we suspect that it will probably be on the same basis as season six.

Amanda Tapping

The wonderful Amanda Tapping will be returning to the United Kingdom again to meet her fans.  Her visit will be sometime in early 2003 - keep an eye out at Wolf Events for more details.

Further details of the UK Convention will be appearing shortly - after we have recovered further!

French Convention

"Site Alpha 1", will be held in Paris on the 1st and 2nd November 2002.
Their guests so far are Chris Judge (on the Friday only), Don S. Davis, Teryl Rothery and Carmen Argenziano.  For more details visit their site at www.frenchcitycon.com

Season Seven?

Recently it was announced that Season Six of Stargate SG-1 is currently the highest rated show on the Sci Fi channel.  This has started negotiations for a seventh season.  However Richard Dean Anderson has not been seen to reverse his decision to leave the show at the end of the Sixth Season.

So could this mean a Seventh Season without Jack O'Neill or will everything depend on Richard changing his mind - as soon as we know we'll let you guys know.

UPDATE: Well Andy e-mailed MGM about a possible Seventh Season and received the following reply which he kindly sent to us:

"Season 7 is not possible at this minute as we don't have sufficient funds. End of season 6 we intend to go out in a bang and a whimper. Just look forward to the upcoming Stargate SG-1 movie starring Daniel Jackson."

What does this mean?  We are not entirely sure - however we are continuing our investigations and we will let you know as soon as we do.

SG5 - Wolf's Last Stargate Weekend Con

Wolf recently announced that SG5 will be their last full weekend con - much to the upset of their many fans.  SG5 is currently shaping up to be the biggest Stargate Convention that Europe has seen with guests including Chris Judge, Peter Williams, JR Bourne and more.  More details can be found at www.wolfevents.net

Many thanks to Bryan and the wonderful people at Wolf Events for all the hard work they have put into these conventions for us fans.  You have truly made a difference to our lives.

Colin Cunningham now to appear in his fourth Season Six episode

Colin Cunningham who plays Major Davies in Stargate is too appear in his fourth Season Six episode.  The highly popular actor will now have stared in 13 episodes during the last six seasons.

Season Two Box Set to be Released

After a long wait it seems that MGM is finally allowing America catch up to the rest of the world with DVDs.  Season Two is to be released on DVD as a boxed set very soon.  But why the long wait?  Possibly copyright issues delayed the release but those Americans desperate for some SG DVDs have had to endure a painful wait.  Lets hope that now that Season Two is being released that Season Three won't be far behind.

Season Six to start airing

Season Six of Stargate SG-1 is due to start airing on the Sci-Fi channel on June 7th at 9.00 p.m.  This will be the first and only new season to air on the Sci-Fi channel as opposed to Showtime which has aired the show for the past five seasons.  Lets hope that this final season is once more full of drama, comedy and half naked men - okay that last bit is just our wishful thinking here at Comtrya!

Michael Shanks to appear in Sixth Season

Michael Shanks will appear in at least one episode "Abyss" during the sixth season of Stargate.  His character of Daniel Jackson will make a re-appearance when the character of Jack is in trouble.

And there are rumors that at least two more episodes have been written with the character of Daniel appearing.  Whether Michael has signed up for these episodes has not yet been confirmed.  We will of course update this page as soon as we have further news.

Colin Cunningham is to appear in Sixth Season

Colin Cunningham who plays the wonderful Major Davis will be appearing in the Sixth Season of Stargate.  He finished shooting his 11th episode of Stargate only a few weeks ago.  Congratulations to Colin who actually talked TPTB into having Davis appear in the episode.

Sixth Season

Filming of the Sixth season is scheduled to start on February 18th.  This will be the final season of Stargate SG-1 and the only season to be produced under the new MGM/Sci-Fi Channel relationship.  The season is predicted to air in the States in June of this year and will hopefully start airing in Great Britain in September.

However the airing of Season Five in the States has taken a bizarre turn.  After the showing of Wormhole Extreme, the memorable 100th episode, airing of any future episodes was halted.  The normal hiatus for Christmas was extended and fans in the States are still waiting after nearly three months for the season to re-commence.   Hopefully the rest of the season should be shown starting March 5th - if our sources are correct.

While there have been several reasons stated it does make this fan wonder if they have delayed showing Meridian in the states until after filming of the sixth season has begun with the new partners - the Sci-Fi channel.  Given the reaction from the episode being shown in Great Britain there could very well be an even bigger backlash after the episode is shown in the States.   Something they may wish to avoid happening until after they are fully committed to filming the Sixth season.

Save Daniel Jackson

On January 30th Meridian aired in Great Britain.  Shortly afterwards a campaign that had begun in December suddenly found itself in full swing.  Solutions (or Save Daniel Jackson) found its counter going from a few hundred to over 20,000 in two weeks.  And after an appearance from Michael Shanks at SG4 the support has grown.  Two adverts have appeared in the press.  One in the British magazine TV Zone and another in the Hollywood Reporter.  More details are available at the Solutions website.

Now an article has appeared at Salon.com (an entertainment site) which has caused some lively discussions on many internet discussion groups.

Hopefully fans will be able to unite over this matter and support both the actors and the show.  Whatever the outcome lets hope that SG1 can be reunited and that the journey they started together can be finished together.

SG4 (appearances by Amanda Tapping, Michael Shanks, Lexa Doig and surprise guest Tom McBeath)

On February 1-3 at London Heathrow fans of Stargate came together for the SG4 convention run by Wolf Events.  The entire event seemed to pass off without any problems despite Michael and Amanda both being unwell.  A convention report is available on this site with photos.  Many thanks to Wolf Events for another wondeful event and the fun that was experienced by all.

SCI FI and MGM

It has been announced that Season Six will now be produced by the Sci Fi channel.  22 new episodes will be produced in total and these will debut on the Sci Fi channel in June 2002.

President of the Sci Fi channel, Bonnie Hammer had the following to say on the subject:

We are thrilled to be able to strengthen our already solid relationship with MGM by adding Stargate to our stable of original series,” stated Hammer. “With its stellar creative team, we are confident that the series will soon build upon its already loyal audience.
